Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-10

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let us recognise you across pages, remember your session and keep the experience useful without forcing you to sign in on every page load.

Cookie categories we use

We classify cookies in two categories:

  • Essential — required to operate the Service (authentication, security). Cannot be disabled because the Service won't work without them.
  • Functional — improve the user experience (remembered filters, recent classifications). Can be cleared from your browser settings without losing access.

We do not set advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not currently use third-party analytics that profile individual users.

Cookies we set

Name Purpose Duration Category
cs-access-token Your signed sign-in token. Its signature is verified on every request, so it proves who you are rather than merely claiming it. Sliding, up to 400 days — refreshed each visit Essential
cs-refresh-token Used to obtain a new sign-in token without asking for your password again. This is what keeps you signed in across browser restarts. Sliding, up to 400 days — refreshed each visit Essential

That's the complete list. As we add features that need to remember something, this table grows with them — we update it in the same release, not afterwards.

Third-party cookies

Embedded providers may set their own cookies in your browser when you interact with their features inside CustomsScanner — for example a payment provider setting a fraud-detection cookie when you start a checkout. These are governed by the respective provider's policy, not ours, and we name the provider at the point where its widget loads.

How to control cookies

You can clear or block cookies from your browser settings. Note that blocking Essential cookies will sign you out and prevent you from signing back in.
